Japan Man

The Last Man in Japan

Japanese Adults Are Helpless

When foreigners literally cream in their pants gushing with naive love for Japan because they like anime/manga, sushi, and sexy Japanese girls I always laugh to myself. Japan is a real country with real people living here who have SERIOUS problems. Japan is not some amusement park for foreign enjoyment. If anything it is a dystopian paradise for all types of predators. And according to a Japan Times article I just read, Japanese adults are too helpless to do anything about it.

According to the author of the article, Hiroka Ono, young Japanese people can’t communicate with each other despite having high tech cellphones. In fact, Ono makes a keen observation that cell phones are actually creating the distance between people. People are oblivious to everyone else because they are too busy paying attention to their phones instead of relying on their senses to interact with the real world. Thus people are not concerned with other people…..but they really, really should be.

Maybe 2 months ago, a crazy lady in Osaka was arrested for stabbing women getting off the escalator at Osaka Station. She was probably doing this for months maybe even years and just got caught recently. No one is paying any goddamn attention because they are too busy checking out their cellphones. If these chicks would have taken two seconds to put their cell phone away and walk around like a regular human being, they wouldn’t have gotten stabbed because they would have known the lady looked suspicious.

Hiroka says she used to hate her family and had no friends to confide in or trust. She didn’t have anyone to talk to about her problems so she was just tired of living. All around her kids were dropping like flies committing suicide to escape the lameness of their lives. According to Hiroka adults pretend like they care about young people but they don’t do anything to help. They say they don’t know what to do. Hiroka is still optimistic and says she would try to help a friend as much as she can, but the truth is that there is nothing you can do. And in my opinion, adults don’t care and don’t want to help not because they are helpless (which they are) but because they just don’t feel like it. They are too busy checking out their cell phones or buying some expensive Louis Vuitton bag.

Japanese Housing

Housing in Japan is shittier than baby diapers. Most places are small as fuck even for a nice place. And guess what? Foreigners are not ALLOWED! And like I said before, your hot shot, college educated, Japanese girlfriend stamp approved Japanese is NOT going to help you unless you look Japanese. If you really want an apartment, you have to set that up with your company or just get a Japanese person to do it for you because it just isn’t worth the trouble.

Ok, so you don’t give a fuck about what I say and you still want to go it on your own because you are some hot shot. You’re Maverick from Top Gun….yeah I get it. Well get ready to pay that “key money” which is a NON-REFUNDABLE payment that all foreigners have to pay up front just to live in a apartment. Usually this is a maximum of 2 months rent but it could be more or less depending on which neighborhood you live and what not. Just hope that the key money is already divided up in the lease term.

But why would you want to rent an aparment in Japan? There is absolutely no reason to do that. It’s not like living in New York where you get what you pay for. In Tokyo you get much, much less than you pay for. You might as well buy a house….good luck with that. Japan is not recession proof so unless you are some real esate wiz, I say stay away from buying land in Japan unless you are married to Japanese girl….in which case you’re already fucked.

Nampa Japan ナンパ

If you want to come to Japan and meet sexy Japanese girls, you have to learn the art of nampa. Nampa ナンパ is Japanese for picking up girls. My Japan Sexy Girl Reports have a few pointers for dudes that want to upgrade their nampa skills. Read them carefully if you want to understand the basics of nampa in Japan.

For foreigners interested in practicing their nampa skills in Japan, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that foreigners can pick up many Japanese girls. There are millions of Japanese girls in Japan (duh!!) They outnumber the small population of foreign dudes. If you like Japanese girls, Japan is paradise on Earth.

The bad news is that most of these girls are ugly or cannot speak English……which is a big problem.  Tokyo is an easy place to score because Tokyo girls are not that attractive. If you want to meet a Tokyo girl, go to Roppongi. The girls might be pretty beat (ugly) but at least they come there to meet foreigners.

Japanese girls rarely speak proper English. They might understand a few words but they will give up if the conversation gets too complicated (so keep it simple stupid!!) Don’t learn Japanese unless you are going to talk to sexy Japanese girls or you just like learning Japanese. I repeat: don’t learn Japanese unless you are going to talk to sexy Japanese girls or you just like learning Japanese. The amount of time, effort, and stress it takes to learn Japanese is not worth wasting on an unattractive, regular Tokyo girl.

Sexy Japanese girls are hard to find and date even if you can speak top notch Japanese. Your hot shot college educated Japanese is not going to cut it (especially if you speak like a nerd) Also, like America, Canada, Europe, and pretty much any other place on Earth, sexy Japanese girls like wealthy, attractive, and/or powerful men. If you are nobody in your own country, don’t come out here expecting to be “Charisma Man” Maybe that shit worked in the 80s and early 90s when Japanese girls didn’t know any better, but the Internet and travel has destroyed any chance for some average dude to get laid by ultra sexy Japanese girls.

“Japan Man can you teach me Nampa?” Nope. Sorry but I don’t nampa anymore. I won’t even teach nampa because it is too stressful and time consuming. You can get some sexy Japanese strippers, dancers, wives, actresses, and wealthy women but is it worth the amount of time and effort it takes practicing nampa? If you have time, money, and intelligence like that, nampa in Japan might be worth it just for the experience. If not, it is probably better just to settle down with some average Japanese girl and call it a day.

“But what about all the nampa websites? Can I trust them?” Hellz no! Most of those websites are managed by dudes that have never picked up a sexy Japanese girl in their lives. And if they are pulling Japanese girls, most of them are sluts and whores (nasty!!) The bottom line is that Japan is like everywhere else. You can pull some really slutty girls quite easily but you have to have wealth, power, looks, or superior intelligence to get the best Japanese girls.

“So what should I do?” Buy a plane ticket to Tokyo and come see what I mean. The Internet has too much garbage information about nampa. I’ve seen Japanese host dudes decked out in Armani get turned down by sexy Japanese girls. They run around the street offering themselves to girls as if they were begging. That is the reality of nampa in Japan.

Japan Music

Japan used to have good music in the past. Yazawa Eikichi 矢沢永吉 is the last real Japanese music icon. He is like James Brown mixed with Elvis in Japan. I’ve been to several of his concerts and I enjoyed myself each time.

Unfortunately besides Ei-chan, Japanese music sucks. Jpop is horrible trash for silly (not sexy) Japanese girls and Japanophiles. Japanese rap is pretty bad but at least some of the girls who listen to it are hot. Some really, really underground Japanese rap is tolerable. Japanese reggae used to be decent but now it’s all cheap dancehall imitation crap. Enka is like Japanese country folk music. I’m not into it, but the other Black Japan Man, Jero, is very popular. I have my own theories about why Jero is so popular and of course I won’t share them.

Besides Yazawa Eikichi and enka, Japanese music is too cutesy, outdated, and childish. Almost every Jpop song sounds like some shit from the 80s. I thought Japanese rap would have matured by now but since American hip hop sucks maybe Japanese rappers ran out of material to play with. Many  Japanese people are really into Jpop idols like Koda Kumi, Namie Amuro, and Crystal Kay because they either look cute or are cultural taboos (Crystal Kay is black and Korean…the ultimate taboo in Japan) Utada Hikaru is ultra talented and quite possibly the only Japanese girl I would be satisfied with besides Nonami Takizawa. She’s not taboo or cutesy so Japanese people are forced to recognize her talent.

Japanese music has a few gems here and there.  I am biased because I love 80s-90s New York hip hop music. jazz, some reggae, and a few old rock songs. I like the oldies but I think I know good music. What do you think about Japanese music? Does it suck or does it rock and why?

Planet Ridiculous

Here we go again….I found yet another article gushing with Tokyo love. Apparently the Tokyo vintage clothing market is the hottest in the world. Tokyo has become “Planet Vintage” because of the 400 plus shops scattered over the city and the superior quality of the clothing. The Paris and London vintage clothing market is no match for “Planet Vintage”

But is Tokyo really full of super hip vintage fashion and “quality” gear? Yes.

Is that a good thing? No.

Are all the clothes pretty much the same? Yes.

So….everybody is wearing the same thing? Yes!!!

Everyone in Tokyo is wearing the exact same vintage crap. Tokyo wants you to believe that old, tattered rags are fashionable. Welcome to Planet Ridiculous.

Tokyo is a city so obssessed with fashion that everyone forgot to make their own shit.  Just like most of the people who live there Tokyo fashion is not authentic. I know for a fact that most shop owners simply take a trip to California or New York, buy cheap clothing, and sell it for 3 to 4 times the price in Tokyo (Warning: don’t try to do this. You won’t make much money with one of these shops as 400 of them already exist) The clothing is so crappy and expensive that you might as well shop at Ralph Lauren, GAP, or Uniqlo because those are the only stores that sell decent clothing in all of Japan.

I used to wonder why Japanese females starve to live in New York City. At first I thought they just wanted a fantasy Sexy In The City lifestyle but now I realize that they just want to live a real life. They want to wear nice clothes and talk to real people (not many real people left in NYC now though….) I guess they are tired of living in Planet Ridiculous.  What do you think about Tokyo fashion? Are you lame enough to be into Planet Ridiculous fashion? And if you are, why?

Sexy Anime Girls Vs. Sexy Japanese Girls

I like sexy anime girl pictures because they are drawn like sexy Japanese girls (except for lolicon and the really hyper extreme stuff…..) Yet most Japanese girls are obsessed with losing weight. The cute, skinny girls get all the Japanese guys even though they have no “assets”. Why do Japanese guys draw and idolize buxom girls while pursuing nasty skinny girls with no titties and ass? I don’t know but whenever I can’t come to any concrete conclusions I do what I always do…blame Tokyo.

Tokyo is the reason why Japanese dudes can’t or won’t talk to a girl with big titties. Tokyo is the “fashion” capital of Japan. Women’s fashion is based on Japan’s top models. A girl has to lose weight in order to fit into the sexy clothes she wants. Thus, by the transitive property, skinny Japanese girls are sexier because they dress better.

Dudes just want some action. We just go for whatever looks sexy. Japanese guys talk to skinny ass girls because they look the sexiest. Also other Japanese dudes want skinny girls so peer pressure kicks in. Even though the Japanese dude isn’t sexually attracted to his lame skinny girl with the body of a 13 year old boy, she is socially acceptable.

But secretly, Japanese dudes really want girls with big titties and fat asses. Otaku a.k.a. Japanese dudes with ability have the right kind of taste (other than lolicon and all the other extreme shit I mentioned before) I think that otaku base their standards on raw feminity and ability (as seen in countless manga, idol videos,  and Diver Hachiwan which I have to post about soon) Somehow Tokyo failed to destroy the dreams and desires of all Japanese men. Tokyo is definitely an evil place but as long as there are smart Japanese dudes around sexy anime and Japanese girls will remain appreciated. What kinds of girls do you like? And if you like nasty skinny girls please don’t post a reply but I’m still curious to know why……

Japan Celebreties

I was bored so I just checked out Japansugoi’s site for some stuff on Japan pop culture for Japanese people, and I just read about the BVLGARI Brilliant Dreams award. Meisa Kuroki 黒木メイサ is pretty hot in the way that Japanese people like and the retired soccer dude is irrelevant. Besides, you know he didn’t get to tap the ass of Meisa Kuroki and you know he wanted too.

Anyhoo, the point that I am trying to make (if there is one for this post..) is that most Japan celebreties are utterly useless except for the hot girls that come along every once in a while. I can’t name one Japanese celebrity or band that was an international hit. Linkin Park has that Japanese dude Mike Shinoda but he sucks on his own (Fort Minor flopped and he can’t rhyme) Takeshi Kitano was pretty good back in the days, but when is the last time he made anything good?

Clearly the best things to come out of Japan are anime/manga, video games, Toyota, Honda, and sexy Japanese girls. The status of Japanese cuisine has suffered over the years due to scandals like the recent Chinese eel packaging fiasco where a Kobe company sold Japanese people dirty Chinese eels in the guise of clean Japanese ones.

Another problem with Japanese celebreties is that any Japanese person on the street can become a geinoujin. Whenever I watch Japanese television, I am astonished at the oversaturation of humorless comedy and terrible acting. If anyone can become famous, then that is what happens to the quality of any genre (look at hip hop music nowadays….)

Thus, unless I am totally bored out of my mind I avoid Japanese television and celebrities. I just don’t see the appeal and it is not like you can discuss this stuff with anybody worth talking to. Shit if you guys even comment I’ll be surprised but feel free to say something. What do you think of Japan’s celebrities? If you like Japan celebreties (and I hope not) who do you like and why?

Tokyo is Overrated

I was reading the Japan Times Online again today and I unfortunately came across another article about Tokyo. Foreigners seems to have a fascination with the megacity despite the existance of vastly superior cities like Kyoto, Kobe, Hamamatsu, and even Nara. While these cities might not be as large as Tokyo, the citizens are authentic (not so much in Kyoto but it’s a college city) and environment is naturally beautiful.

My main problem with Tokyo is that most of the people who live there are from somewhere else which is usually the country side. While Tokyo has some very fashionable residents who know how to navigate the city, I feel like they are few and far between. New York also has this problem as thousands of yuppies migrate to the city and make it worst each year. At least New York has yuppies though. Tokyo just seems to have massive influxes of clerical workers and people doing temp jobs.

There is no rhyme or reason to Tokyo’s neighborhoods besides Harajuku, Ebisu, Akiba, and Ginza. Everywhere else in Tokyo is a sprawling continuation of buildings and streets in every direction possible without any parks or trees. Chiba, Saitama, and Yokohama are not Tokyo so they don’t count. I am only talking about Tokyo city and not the greater Tokyo area.  If I came to Japan for the first time and I had to live or stay in Tokyo, I would definitely have a negative impression about Japan.

Tokyo does not disappoint when it comes to shopping, but you won’t find anything exclusive. Shibuya is the best place to shop in Tokyo hands down. It has about 4-5 large malls packed tight in one area. You can spend all day shopping for expensive brand name crap, but you won’t find anything you can’t get in Osaka or Kobe. Yokohama and Yokosuka have cheap military base stores, but you have to know an army dude to get on  the base. Shibuya definitely disappoints when it comes to variety. It might have a bunch of malls and shops, but what is the point if they all sell the same shit? Everyone I saw was walking around with the same gear on. It is like that in NYC too, but there are way more shopping districts in NYC.

The only reason I would live in Tokyo is for the massive amounts of anime/manga paraphanalia in Akiba and the unlimited amount of Japanese girls you can have sex with. Based on those two criteria alone, Tokyo is a ultra deal for otaku and sex tourists.  If you can’t get laid in Tokyo you need serious help. The only drawback is that the girls will be pretty ugly. Only the dudes with the serious money or connections get the beautiful girls in Tokyo. Trust me on this. When I was in Shibuya, the best girl that I saw all day was this girl I used to mess with in Kyoto who is really from Nagano (read my Shibuya Never Sleeps post) If you don’t care about how girls look, then it is no problem. 5 or 6 women taking care of your every need is much better than 1 good looking girl who can’t do anything.

At the end of the day a Tokyo trip is a must for anybody. Just don’t get too excited because you will definitely be let down. If you have already been to Tokyo, what did you think about it? Were you disappointed or satistied and why?

Shibuya Never Sleeps

Sorry for the delay everyone but I have been pretty much enthralled with Tokyo and Shibuya since I have been out here. I am doing a lot of traveling but unfortunatley I don’t have any sexy girl reports yet. From what I have seen so far, foreigners in Tokyo aren’t getting the premium women. I wonder how much of that is attributed to oversaturation but I don’t think that is the case. My theory is that having money is way more important in Tokyo than in even New York which is pretty ridiculous.

I met up with one of my former flings last weekend and she gave me the lowdown about Tokyo. The city is great, but she expected more than just one place to go to hang out (Shibuya) Maybe if she was an otaku like me, she could enjoy Akiba. She works at a regular office job that makes ends meet without much left over and her dream is to go to NYC which is something I hear rather often from young Japanese women. At night we hit the Roppongi hip hop area. I must say that I was thoroughly dissappointed. There must have been 2 cute girls there the whole night and I don’t think I saw them. All the ultra sexy girls you see in Shibuya all tanned or fashioned up were no where to be seen…..Even my former fling disappeared somewhere then started calling me at the most random hour of the night to see if I had left with a girl…gee whiz….

I guess the point I am trying to make is that everytime I come to Tokyo I meet up with some girls and some women like me, but Kansai is cheaper and the women are much nicer. Some people get upset because they think that if bros talk to Japanese women out here then they are prepetuating negative stereotypes about black dudes being sex fiends and what not. All I have to say is that people are going to do what they want regardless of what is right or wrong. It is just not logical to argue about something that isn’t going to change as long as some young Japanese women (albeit not the really sexy, fashionable ones in Tokyo) want to talk to bros. Anyhoo, once I beat Metal Gear Solid 4 in the next 2 days and post about it, I promise that I’ll have those Akiba and Shibuya pics up. Until then, hang in there.

Akihabara Sick Murder

I wasn’t going to touch this tragic event because I think that I am already doing a good job at explaining to you guys that Japan’s no picnic, but I feel that I should throw in my cheap two cents anyhoo.

First of all these cell phone suicide and murder sites have been around for a while. Japan’s suicide rate is probably the highest in the world. I wonder what Japan’s sick murder rate is. I need to consult What Japan Thinks, but if he doesn’t have the data, he should start collecting some now.

Japan is not a safe country. When you come out here, you have to look both ways and watch your back just like anywhere else. I don’t know where this image of a safe, crime free Japan comes from, but it’s not true. You probably won’t get blasted on like in Brooklyn and Harlem, but when something goes down, and it will, just be prepared.
